A bridge can be described as any structure that is built for the purpose of spanning a body of water, a valley or any kind of physical obstacle. Any bridge serves the purpose of creating a passage over any kind of obstacle that comes in its way. The designs of bridges usually vary and depend on the kind of functions they are required to perform. There are six major types of bridges which are truss bridges, arch bridges, cable-stayed bridges, suspension bridges, beam bridges and also cantilever bridges.
